About Rocky Point Kennels
Rocky Point Kennels is a small family owned kennel in southcentral Montana. We strive to produce top quality pointing labs. The pointing lab is truly the most versatile lab you can own. They excel in waterfowl hunting, upland hunting, can play in all the hunt tests ( AKC, HRC, APLA) and make exceptional family companions. We chose dogs with great temperaments, looks, natural ability, proven pedigrees and health clearances. Our dogs are well socialized to children, and other dogs. They come with introduction to birds, a 26 month health guarantee, vet check, dewormed, 1st vaccines, microchipped, Early Neurological Stimulation and AKC/UKC registration. All pups are sold with Limited Registration until ( at minimum) the health clearances are proven. Prices range from 2000-2500.
Our breeding dogs are tested through Paw Print Genetics for common diseases within the Labrador breed. At minimum we test each dog for:

We are dilute free and do not sell to dilute breeders.

GRHRCH (3) Kess’s Royal Flush MH Costa is a Fox Red/Yellow and 65lbs. Costa’s pedigree speaks for itself, his sire is Stroker -SRSCC HOF 8xGRHRCH Weess’s I Be Strokin MH MN. Stroker accomplished his GRHRCH MH with SRS 2nd & 4th placements by 3 years old. At a month after turning 4 he WON his first SRS against 75 dogs. He is one of the few dogs to be in the HRC Hall of Fame and the Master National Hall of Fame and is on an even shorter list of also winning the 2021 Open Crown Championship. Costa’s grand sire is Big Black Dude II , 2x Super Retriever Series Champion, 15 x Grand Hunting Retriever Champion AKC Master National Hall of Fame inductee & HRC Hall of Fame inductee. Costa is much like his dad Stroker, always running consistently, deliberately and confident. He has an amazing on/off switch which keeps him sharp in the field but calm inside the house or the kennel. In 2024 he started off participating in Qualifiers and some SRS events. He placed 3rd in his second qualifier, and he made the top 12 in his first SRS event. He also just placed top 6th in the open division SRS event. Costa is a hunting machine, he doesn’t give up on a bird, and he is one heck of a goose dog in the field picking up 100s of geese and ducks each year. His demeanor on the line at a hunt test or in a hunting blind is something to cherish, he is calm, cool and collected. Costa has 3 Grand Passes already and will continue his goal of obtaining that 4th pass and working towards the HRC Hall Of Fame. Costa is also of the 500 Point Club in the HRC.

North has an amazing off switch which makes him a great house dog and therapy dog for the local schools and nursing homes. He has hunted in South Dakota for three years now and he has earned his title of “King of the Cattails,” If there is a pheasant in there he will find it. He hunts hard and gives his all. I have owned and trained hunting dogs for over 25 years, for both field trialing, and versatile hunting. I am currently serving as president of our local NAVHDA Chapter. A couple of years ago a good friend asked me to visit Rocky Point Kennels to help him pick out a new puppy. We have hunted together for several years and usually take 2 to 3 hunting trips out of State. We just returned from our fourth trip to South Dakota since he purchased his new puppy. I think Copper turns two years old in January. This dog really has “ it”, what I call the “It” factor. From the very first time I went hunting with Copper he has shown intense desire and drive to hunt, and yet is extremely easy to train, and live with. He seems to never quit. He also has a phenomenal nose and ability to find birds. Whenever we have a running pheasant or a lost bird that goes down in heavy cover, Copper is the dog we can always depend on to find those birds. He also has amazing tracking skills.

Purchased a puppy from Rocky Point Kennel from Indy’s litter from November 2017. Jenna was very professional keeping me informed about the litters progress, sending pictures and videos. They were also very good at shipping the puppy to me from Montana to Philadelphia. But they just didn’t stop there, they even helped me out with AKC paperwork after I received the puppy. The puppy I received is not only the most handsome boy ever but smart, very muscular, active with kids and even my cats. These dogs do have a lot of drive so they do need lots of exercise. I highly recommend Rocky point kennels for anyone that wants a dog for hunting or for a companion.
